Alexa Spike Anomaly?

I've been meaning to post about this for about 2 months now. Back in April Alexa's graphs for certain sites (not all) jumped dramatically on the very same day. Nothing Earth shattering happened that day that could be related to such a dramatic traffic spike. I thought it was just a temporary "disturbance in the force" that will eventually be ironed out, but no, that spike remained, and charts for those select sites continued from the spike's top-most point. Here is an example:

What do you think happened there? Do you have any insight into what caused that spike? Is it just an Alexa error? Uncorrected?
