Simpy Release: OpenID and Profile Monsters

« Quechup? | Main | Google Reader & Simpy »

It's been a while since I made a proper release, but afew moments ago I made a new Simpy release with two new features:

  1. OpenID support
  2. Profile images (big scary monsters, by default)

OpenID support lets you use OpenID to log into Simpy instead of having (yet another) password [1]. If you don't have OpenID yet, you can get your own OpenID URL at myopenid.com for example.

Profile images functionality lets you upload an image of your own to be used on your Simpy profile page. Here is mine, for example, and here is what a random monster profile image looks like. Got a good picture of yourself? Go upload it, unless you prefer looking like a monster!

[1] Note that Simpy will still quietly generate a random password even when you choose to use OpenID. This is handy because it will let you back into Simpy via http://simpy.com/password even if your OpenID provider is down, for example.

More improvements to Simpy are coming soon! If you want certain functionality really badly, send email!
